Materials and Finishes

We can create most any of our offerings out of any currently available wood species. We have found Wormy Maple to be a very good combination of beauty, affordability, durability and availability. If you don't have a preference, this material would be our recommendation. Please bear in mind that like most other species, the appearance of Wormy Maple can vary greatly, and no two boards are alike. If you are looking for a specific appearance or character, please be sure to let us know.

We normally finish our states and other decorative pieces with high-quality polyurethane which is durable, accentuates the natural beauty of the wood and works well for indoor applications. We normally finish our toys and gadgets with 100% pure Tung Oil which is considered non-toxic and all-natural. The oil is however derived from tree nuts, so please consider this for anyone who may have allergies and let us know if a different finish would be preferred.
